BALTIMORE — Former White House High School offensive tackle Rogers Gaines became the first player in WHHS history to sign a contract in the National Football League after his deal with the Baltimore Ravens this weekend as an undrafted free agent.
Gaines, a senior All-American left tackle at Tennessee State University, missed the final two games of the 2012 season before a minor knee operation but participated in the NFL Scouting Combine in February. He was not selected in the seven rounds of the NFL Draft over the weekend but became eligible to sign with any team Saturday. Media outlet WNST in Baltimore confirmed the deal Saturday night as did Gaines through his personal Twitter account.
