Two 100-yard rushers in same game (Correction)

White House football has enjoyed a long success of running the football. Friday night, Alex Felts and Alex Lyon both went over the 100-yard rushing mark in the same game. Felts rushed 23 times for 103 yards and a touchdown, and Lyon rushed eight times for 144 yards and a touchdown.

It was reported that the last time this occurred was October 14, 2005, when Ricky Ladd and Justin West pulled off the feat. It actually has occurred three times since.

  • In the 2007 regular season, DeMarqus Payne and Bryan Dixon rushed for 141 and 100 yards, respectively against Macon County.
  • In the 2007 regular season, DeMarqus Payne and Bryan Dixon rushed for 159 and 101 yards, respectively, against Springfield. This happened in back-to-back games.
  • In the 2007 postseason, DeMarqus Payne rushed for 186 yards and Bryan Dixon rushed for 174 yards in a first round win over Polk County.

Our apologies to DeMarqus and Bryan and congrats to Alex and Alex on the feat!
