Football stadium update

White House city administrator Jerry Herman announced an update to the Dewey H. Whitson Stadium issue today at the WH Area Chamber of Commerce luncheon.

The city has proposed to maintain the stadium for three years at its current cost while Sumner County Schools assumes ownership of the stadium grounds, in exchange for the release of a deed restriction at the new library site.

At the end of three years, White House High School and Sumner County Schools will be responsible for maintenance.

This is recommended for approval at tonight’s school board meeting, then it will be reviewed at the County Commission Monday night and back to a called session at the city to finalize if all steps are approved.
