By Staff reports for The White House Connection
The postponement of the Sumner County School Board meeting last Tuesday night is not going to affect the progress of Sumner County’s purchase of the White House football stadium. The city of White House had a special called general operations meeting last Wednesday night to discuss the newly added changes that were agreed upon two weeks ago.
“This was probably the most important hurdle for us, getting it out of this general operations committee,” City Administrator Gerald Herman said. “It was a vote 4-1 for the agreement that was made last Thursday (Jan. 16).”
The school board has rescheduled their meeting for tonight at 6. Herman said he had been reassured that the additions to the agreement would be on the school board’s agenda tonight.
“The school board and our board are basically just approving the amendments, the additional changes, because they’ve both already approved the contract for the most part,” he said.
The city will hold a special called board meeting on Feb. 4 where they will approve the final draft of the agreement.
The Sumner County Commission met Jan. 27, but details from this meeting were unavailable at press time.
