White House (1-0) at Greenbrier (0-2)

Kickoff at 7 p.m. at Bobcat Field

Last week: White House captured a 35-6 win at Portland. Greenbrier dropped a 31-14 decision at Lipscomb Academy.

Last meeting between the two teams: The Blue Devils captured a 9-6, overtime victory over the visiting Bobcats a year ago.

The two teams have started the season in opposite ways as the Blue Devils opened play with a convincing win last week while the Bobcats have dropped their first two contests.

This is the District 9-AA opener for both teams.

The Bobcats suffered a 33-29 loss to visiting Springfield two weeks ago, prior to last week’s setback at Lipscomb Academy.

Greenbrier has lost four consecutive games dating back to last season.

White House dominated play last Friday, scoring the first 35 points and limiting Portland to less than 100 yards of total offense until the final five minutes of play.

The Blue Devil offense also produced 12 first downs and 271 total yards.

White House senior placekicker Dillon Anderson left the field last Friday on crutches after he was hit following a made point-after touchdown kick late in the third quarter, leaving his status for the Greenbrier game uncertain.

The Blue Devils have won the last two district titles, having lost just one district game over the last two seasons (a 25-18 contest at Sycamore in the final regular-season game of the 2012 season).

White House has won the last three meetings between the two rivals and eight of the last nine contests. The Bobcats’ lone victory during that span came on their home field in 2010, a 28-21 win.
