WHITE HOUSE – The freshman Blue Devils picked up a big win and remained undefeated for the 2014 season Thursday night when White House beat White House Heritage, 50-0, at Dewey H. Whitson Stadium.

The Blue Devils dominated on the ground and built a 34-0 lead by halftime, but sealed the game in the third quarter when Carter Hunt intercepted Austin Gunter and returned the ball inside the 5-yard-line.

Hunt found the endzone for the Blue Devils along with scoring from Logan McKenzie and Landon Deming, and two-point passes from Bryant Reynolds to Dawson Bragg, and a fullback run for two by Alex Coble.

White House Heritage moved into scoring position for the first time at the end of the game, following a big run by Kendall Wesley.

With a running clock enforced with the big score, the Patriots called timeout with :01 left in the game. Gunter dropped back to throw and his pass at the goal line was broken up by Ezra Bates to preserve the shut out.

While the Blue Devils were solid on defense, White House Heritage got a boost from Rigo Martinez with over 100 yards on kick returns.

White House will play at Macon County Monday night at 6 p.m. in a makeup game from weather last week.
