CROSS PLAINS — It was a match-up between coaching legends on Friday night at East Robertson High School as Jeff Porter and the White House Blue Devils took on Tom Adkins and the Jo Byrns Red Devils during the Robertson County Jamboree.

It was Porter and the Blue Devils who got the better of Jo Byrns in a 20-0 win.

Andrew Nixon got the start at quarterback for White House and it appears he will likely take the first snap of the regular season.

Will Frazier and Carter Hunt both had touchdowns on the ground. The Blue Devils’ third TD was scored after Hunter Brown got an interception. Brown the connected with Kevin James on a touchdown pass.

“The most important things is a lot of kids got to play and to my knowledge we got out of here injury free,” Porter said after the game.

Despite the score, Adkins said it was a good test for his team.

“I’ve always enjoyed this Jamboree because it’s as close to a live game that you can get,” Adkins said. “The coaches are on the sideline, they’re not out there with you.”

Both teams will now prepare for the first game of the regular season Friday night. White House will take on rival White House Heritage while Jo Byrns will battle Cheatham County.
