Farm Bureau Player of the Week: Brett Drake (Week 5)

brett drake potwWhite House senior wide receiver and defensive back Brett Drake was named the Player of the Week for the Blue Devils in week five after a 16-14 win over Springfield. Drake caught two passes for 43 yards, including a huge 24-yard reception on 3rd and 13 to set up the game-winning field goal, and rushed for 10 yards on four carries. On defense he had nine tackles, five passes broken up, one tackle for loss and one interception.

When Springfield had the ball at the end of the game trying to drive for the win, Drake either made the tackle or broke up the pass on all six final plays of the contest.

For the season, Drake is second on the team with four catches for 80 yards and two touchdowns. He has rushed four times for 10 yards. On defense, he is fourth on the team with 16 tackles, leads the team with six passes broken up and is tied for the team lead with two interceptions.
