Farm Bureau Player of the Week: Tyler McMurtry (Week 7)

White House senior defensive end Tyler McMurtry was named the Player of the Week for the Blue Devils in week seven after a 6-0 win over Portland. McMurtry made 10 tackles with a sack, two tackles for losses and three quarterback hurries with a pass broken up. Tyler flushed out Portland’s quarterback on the final Panthers offensive play to force an incomplete pass.

For the season, McMurtry is the second leading tackler on the team with 50 tackles. He leads the Blue Devils with 4.5 sacks and 18 tackles for losses and 11 quarterback hurries. He has three passes broken up, one fumble recovery, one fumble caused and one special teams block.
