Nixon surpasses 1,000 yards for second straight season

White House junior quarterback Andrew Nixon surpassed the 1,000-yard passing mark for the second consecutive season Friday night, completing 7-of-17 passes for 183 yards and three touchdowns.

Nixon passed for 1,243 yards in 2016, and has passed for 1,171 through nine games this season. No White House quarterback has ever had more than two 1,000-yard seasons.

For his career, he has completed 130-of-277 passes for 2,414 yards and 25 touchdowns and also rushed for five touchdowns.

Other milestones:

• Nixon completed his 10th 100-yard passing game, tying him for 5th all time with Kyle Levering and Gordon Keene.
• Nixon is 6th all-time with 25 career touchdown passes, one behind Gordon Keene (26).
• Nixon has three career 200-yard passing games, tying him with Jonathan Finch for 2nd all-time. Trox Greenwade had four.
• Nixon’s 82-yard pass play to Will Frazer is the 4th longest pass play all-time.
• Nixon passed Steven Rankin for 6th all-time in passing yards and is 34 yards shy of Heath Johnson for fifth all-time.
• Nixon’s 183 yards were the most all-time against Montgomery Central in the 11 games of the series, passing Heath Johnson’s 180 on Nov. 5, 2010.
• Nixon’s 82-yard completion to Will Frazer was the longest play against Montgomery Central all-time, passing an 80-yard rush by Billy Short on Nov. 5, 1982, and a 65-yard pass reception from Heath Johnson to Trent McEwen on Nov. 5, 2010.
• Nixon’s 3 TD passes were the most all-time against Montgomery Central, passing Brock King on Oct. 6, 1995 and Heath Johnson on Nov. 6, 2010, both with two.

Josh Dailey recorded six tackles Friday night, giving him 100 for his career.

Tyler McMurtry recorded eight tackles Friday night, surpassing 150 for his career (152).

Jacob Harper has 32 PAT kicks this season, surpassing 9th most all-time for a single season.

White House defeated Montgomery Central, 30-10.
