By Kris Freeman, Sports Information Director, White House High School

WHITE HOUSE – A 20-point run from the end of the second quarter to the middle of the third proved to be the undoing of White House on Tuesday night, as the Blue Devils dropped their first loss of the season with a 62-55 defeat at the hands of Gallatin.

A three-point barrage in the first half pushed White House to a 16-point lead, but Gallatin cut it to 37-26 with a three right before the half and then scored the first 17 points of the third to take a 43-37 edge.

White House rallied but could not overcome the run and fell by seven.

Senior center Zool Kuth was dominating for the Green Wave with 25 points, scoring 12 baskets in the paint plus a free throw. He was aided by 18 from junior Octavion Arnold and 12 from senior Zyon Mason.

For White House, the scoring came quick in the first half but cooled off in the second. Junior guard Jared Ward led the way with 18, but had 13 of those before halftime. Junior Kyle Elliott dropped in 12, sophomore Dursten Adams 10 and senior Bryant Reynolds eight. Andrew Nixon hit one three, and Logan Neufeld and Kevin James had two.

The Blue Devils hit 11 three-pointers but nine of them came before the break.

Gallatin also got two points from Antonio House and Larodre Clark, and Maison Terrell hit two free throws for his only points with 0.1 seconds to go after a late foul once the game was decided.

White House falls to 4-1 for the season and plays at Portland Tuesday night.
