GALLATIN – In a matchup of Sumner County teams, the AA White House Blue Devils took a visit to AAA Gallatin for two games.
The Gallatin boys established an immediate lead and never looked back, routing the Blue Devils in an 84-41 victory.
The first half belonged to Octavion Arnold and Collin Minor, who had eight first-half 3-pointers, combining for 30 of the team’s 51 first-half points.
Arnold finished with five 3-pointers and 19 points to lead Gallatin, while Minor ended with five 3-pointers and 17 points.
After taking a dominating 51-19 first-half lead, the clock ran the entire second half and White House never posed much of a threat in the second half.
The Green Wave outscored White House 33-23 in the second half, picking up their 14th of the season.
Gallatin (girls) 47, White House 36
The Lady Wave took a first-quarter lead and never relinquished it, taking a 47-36 win and county bragging rights. The Lady Wave improve to 6-6, while the Lady Devils fall to 2-10.
Gallatin was led behind a strong 21-point effort from Jo’Neca Talley, while White House was led by McKenzie Vaughn’s 21 points.
Gallatin hosts Wilson Central in a district game Friday.
