Wrestling: Whitehurst qualifies for state in girls individual region meet

By Kris Freeman for White House High School

White House junior Taylor Whitehurst finished fourth in the TSSAA Girls West regional this weekend, qualifying her for the TSSAA State Tournament in the 160-pound weight class.

Even though White House competed with just two girls, the team finished 11th out of 42 teams and were the second highest finisher for a small school behind Sycamore, as all teams compete in the same division.

Congratulations to Taylor and Madison Jones on a great season!

Feb. 16th and 17th is the individual state for both boys and girls at the Williamson County AgExpo Center in Franklin. The boys will compete to qualify at Regions on Feb. 9th and 10th at Fairview.

White House wrestles in an in-home match vs. Hendersonville at 11 a.m. Tuesday.
