By Kris Freeman for White House High School
GALLATIN – The season opener between White House High School football and Sumner County rival Station Camp will be broadcast via livestream on Facebook.
The Blue Devils travel to Gallatin to face the Bison on August 21, at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast on White House BDP and this is the first official football broadcast for the school network, supported by students and teachers at WHHS.
Sophomore Noah Freeman will be on the call for play-by-play with sports media coverage provided by Angelene Cotto-Santiago, Brooklyn Sharber, Sarah Wright and a number of other students representing the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devil Network carries student-sponsored broadcasts of White House events, however for football, broadcasts have been carried locally on Comcast Channel 9 by tape delay. The Facebook Live broadcast will be available until midnight Friday; a replay of the game will be on Comcast Channel 9 by Saturday.
Facebook Live broadcasts for WHHS are free to the public, but if you would like to sponsor this event, sponsorships are available at $500 for a video commercial and $100 for an audio/verbal spot by filling out this form for more information online.
What about the traditional Blue Devil Network for football exclusively?
Dewayne McDaniel and John McDuffee, along with Billy Jackson, Randy Cline and a number of other community supporters, have long broadcasted White House football through Comcast Channel 9, and we hope to see them with us again soon!
The decision to broadcast live on White House BDP for the game at Station Camp is in response to COVID-19 restrictions, and making an away game available live for free to our fans online.
White House High School owes a debt of gratitude to the hard work and efforts of our broadcasters and community volunteers and we are very thankful for their support in this partnership to bring you a student-led broadcast for game one. We hope things return to normal soon!
We will have more information on the remainder of our broadcast schedule for the future.
Thank you to our sponsors!
