Senior basketball player Alexis Bess committed last week to sign and play college basketball with Freed Hardeman University.
Bess, a guard for the White House Lady Devils and three-sport athlete at WHHS as a soccer player and track athlete, is looking forward to a collegiate career with the Lions.
Bess averaged 3.1 points per game as a basketball player but will be counted on as one of six seniors to fill the role of three departed seniors for the Lady Devils. All three of those seniors were starting guards or forwards. Bess is a 41.4 percent shooter and 32 percent shooter from three-point range.
“Alexis is a hard worker and a great team mate, and we are excited to see what her future holds for her,” said White House head basketball coach Kelly Smelcer. “She is an excellent leader on and off the floor for us and a great athlete at our school in so many different areas.”
We will have more about this story when there is an official signing ceremony and congratulations to Alexis!
