The White House High School cross country team opened the 2020 season officially Saturday, August 29th at Sanders Ferry Park in Hendersonville for the Sumner County meet.
While the meet was held in Sumner County, some of the top teams in the state turned out to run with White House competing against many larger schools. It was a fast race for both the boys and girls meets and while White House did not walk away with any hardware from the event, several runners put up impressive totals.
Hannah Barnes posted a personal record (PR) in her first event of the year.
“We left the meet knowing where we are and where we need to be,” said White House head coach Gary Marsh. “I was very proud of our team and over 50 percent of them were running their very first high school meet.”
The team’s next race is Friday, Sept. 11th at the Coleman Midgett Invitational at Sanders Ferry Park.
