WHITE HOUSE – The Macon County Tigerettes advanced to the semifinals of the District 11-AA Tournament Tuesday at White House High School, eliminating the tournament hosts in three sets.
White House started the match on fire, but after a 6-0 start, White House was dominated in the remainder of the first set to fall 25-10. The same score was the fate in the second as Macon County scored the first 11 points of the set to again win 25-10. White House fought off six match points in the final set to finish with a 25-18 loss.
It was the final game for seniors Ally Grace Sloan and Phebe Barlow. White House junior Justine Lowe was named to the All-District 11-AA Team.
Macon County advances to the semifinals on Thursday to face White House Heritage, the tournament number two seed, at 5:30 p.m. at WHHS. Portland starts the action versus Springfield at 4 p.m., and the winning two teams will play in the championship at 7 p.m.
Macon County earned a series sweep over White House with their third victory over the Lady Devils this season.
