The Home of Blue Devil Pride

WHITE HOUSE – Last week, the playoff scenarios for Region 5-4A were multiple pages of complex info.
Heading into the final week of the regular season, things have simplified and come down to the winner of two games, each decided different slots in the standings.
The winner of Creek Wood (9-0, 5-0) at Springfield (8-1, 5-0) is the region champion and the loser is second. Both teams will host a first round playoff game. But for Greenbrier (4-3, 2-3) at White House (3-6, 2-3), it’s an old-fashioned loser-leave-town matchup. The winner is fourth place, the loser misses the playoffs and the season is over.
White House Heritage (6-3, 3-2) is third. The Patriots lost to Creek Wood and Springfield and beat White House and Greenbrier. The Patriots play a window-dressing game against Montgomery Central (3-4, 1-4) for nothing but pride, as the Indians were eliminated by White House Friday night.
Portland’s season is over (2-8, 0-6).
White House defeated Greenbrier 29-0 last season on the road in a game that did not affect either team’s playoff positioning as the two teams finished at the bottom of Region 5-4A.
