By Kris Freeman for White House High School

Evan Shankle, a senior for the White House Blue Devils, was named the Main Street Preps Titans Insider Northern Sumner County Player of the Week after a 7-0 victory over Montgomery Central in week 10.

Shankle, the normal starting fullback and linebacker, started at tailback for the second straight week for the injured Ranen Blackburn. He led the Blue Devils down the field for an opening scoring drive to take the early lead and score the only touchdown of the night. Shankle plunged in for a three-yard touchdown.

Shankle had 114 yards rushing plus 12 tackles and three tackles for losses to lead the defense to a shutout.

Shankle was also named the Titans Insider Player of the Week in week nine at Creek Wood when he rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown.

White House tailback Blackburn returned for the second half Friday, but he and Shankle rotated time as Blackburn and quarterback Dylan Frary swapped at signal caller.

The Blue Devils play at home Friday against Greenbrier.
