Soccer: Lady Devils Celebrate with Awards night

The White House Lady Devils soccer team celebrated the 2020 season on Sunday night, November 29, handing out awards and honoring three seniors for their contributions to the team.

White House completed the season as a Region 5-AA semifinalist and won second place in the District 9-AA tournament after finishing first in the regular season. Despite setbacks from scheduling and cancellations, White House advanced to the region round before falling to Hume Fogg.

Seniors Ashleigh Spurlock, Kaitlyn Stanfield and Alexis Bess were recognized with gifts from the team including a framed copy of their jerseys.

Award winners for the 2020 season including keeper Jordan Turner as the Most Valuable Player for the team. Turner was solid in net during her sophomore season for the Lady Devils.

Fellow sophomores Morgan Potts and Sydney Richardson were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year, respectively. Freshman Marley Hyde received the Most Improved Award and senior Alexis Bess and junior Eden Bradley received the Leadership Award.

Sydney Richardson and sophomore Carmen Perkins were honored as members of the All-Tournament Team for Region 5-AA.

White House received six district awards.

Sydney Richardson and Alexis Bess were named to the All-Tournament District 9-AA Team.

Sydney Richardson, senior Ashleigh Spurlock and Carmen Perkins were named to the All-District 9-AA Team for the season.

Senior Alexis Bess was named the Defensive Player of the Year for District 9-AA.
