Junior Rachel Scott has played in 18 sets for the University of the Cumberlands volleyball team in the 2020-21 season, with 30 digs and a receive percentage of .880 on defense for the Lady Patriots.
Scott graduated from White House High School and is in her third year with the school in the Mid South Conference of the NAIA.
University of the Cumberlands split two early matches in October and restarted in January, cancelling a match with Cumberland University before falling to Campbellsville and Shawnee State. The next six matches were cancelled, but the team is scheduled to play Monday, February 15th at Shawnee State in Portsmouth, OH, and then at home in Williamsburg, KY, on February 18th vs. Bethel. Saturday, the Lady Patriots host Freed-Hardeman at home.
Scott has 75 total attempts on defense and she is one of just three players to play 18 sets for the team this season in four matches.
As a sophomore, she played in 30 matches with 30 digs and 15 aces, and was MSC Academic All-Conference. She played in 26 matches as a freshman in 2018 with 43 digs and 11 aces. She is a defensive specialist and a biology and psychology major.
