Palmer Commits to Roane State Baseball

HARRIMAN – Senior left-handed hurler and outfielder Dustin Palmer has committed to play college baseball at Roane State Community College.

Palmer leads the Blue Devils this season with 32 strikeouts and a 1.84 ERA, and two impressive combined no hitters against East Robertson and Cheatham County. In both games, a teammate finished the last inning when Palmer reached his pitch count cap.

Roane State is located in Harriman in East Tennessee close to Knoxville.

Palmer is a true southpaw and in addition to his pitching prowess is batting .464 in 28 at-bats with five doubles and eight RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has drawn 10 walks and has a plus-.600 on base percentage with an OPS of 1.258.

On the mound, the senior has thrown 19 innings and allowed just five runs on nine hits with 32 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.15.

The Blue Devils are scheduled to play Thursday at CCS if weather allows after sweeping Cheatham County this week. Palmer threw four shutout and no hit innings in a 14-0 victory. White House is 8-4 (4-2).
