HENDERSONVILLE – White House senior Femi Richards notched the school’s first two championship finishes in the Sumner County Track and Field Championships on Tuesday, winning the high jump and long jump as the county completed the finals for field events.
Preliminaries were run for track events and will finish with the finals on Thursday.
Richards won the high jump with a height of five feet and 10 inches. He won the triple jump at 42-11. White House’s Austin Beeson finished 9th with 34-01.50.
Marley Hyde was second overall in the triple jump at 30-11, and Alexis Bess was fourth at 29-04.75. Hyde was also fourth in the high jump at 4-06.
Ranen Blackburn finished second in the boys long jump at 21-00, with Reece McAfee at 19-11.75 and Richards coming in 7th for his third event placement of the day.
McKenna Potts was 13th in the girls shot put.
Macyn Hunt was 7th in the girls long jump at 14-02.
Preston Wallace finished 16th at 49-02 in the discus throw and 13th overall at 26-10.25.
In team scores after Tuesday, the girls were 5th with 20 points and the boys are 5th with 35.
The preliminaries for running/track events were held with White House qualifying many runners for the Thursday championships. Stay tuned for more updates on White House BDP.
