SOC: Devils Shut Out Tigers

LAFAYETTE – The White House Blue Devils made it a perfect week on Friday with a 9-0 mercy-rule victory over Macon County on the road, improving to 4-6 overall and 3-1 in district play.

White House swept Springfield, Portland and Macon County in the span of five days and has won three straight games after playing tough competition to start the season.

Junior Bryson Harper scored two goals, senior Layne Jenkins scored two goals, and junior Justin Southall scored two goals to lead the Devils. Senior Lucas McKinney added a goal, along with freshman Baylor Burrow and sophomore Carter Mann.

Senior Cason Cooper had three assists.

White House jumped out to a 4-0 lead at the half and put the game away by goal mercy rule with just a few minutes remaining in the second.

Sophomore Jonathan Sutton went the entire way for the Blue Devils in net for the shutout.

White House plays Greenbrier at home Monday for senior night with JV at 5:00 and varsity at 7:00.

White House plays at Gallatin in non district play Tuesday, and then at Centennial on Thursday.
