Blackburn Finalist for tennessean Boys Athlete of Week

White House’s Ranen Blackburn was a finalist for The Tennessean Boys Athlete of the Week Award. Though he did not finish in the top of the voting, congratulations to Ranen on this accomplishment as the junior continues to excel with his track and field teammates at WHHS.

Here are this week’s candidates:

Blake Bevis, Ravenwood: Bevis went 7-for-15 with nine RBIs during the week including a 4-for-4 night against Columbia that included three doubles and six RBIs.

Ranen Blackburn, White House: Blackburn set four new personal records and four school records in the 100-meter dash (11.45), long jump (21-00), 4×100 relay (45.35) and 4×200 (1:36.37at the Sumner County Championships.

Owen Block, USN: Block went 8-for-15 with four RBIs while also striking out 13 in two appearances on the mound including a four-inning no-hitter against Friendship Christian.

Connor Martin, Goodpasture: Martin was one walk away from a perfect game as he struck out 11 in an 11-0 win over Nashville Christian.

Roland McGhee, Ensworth: McGhee set a new school record in the long jump (23-8) finished first in 4×400 relay and second in the 200-meter dash and 2nd in 200 & 4×200.

Davis McQueen, Green Hill: McQueen recorded a hat trick in a 5-0 win over Lebanon.

Miles Nixon, Columbia Academy: He went 2-1 this week defeating the number 1 boys from Franklin Road and Webb.

Aiden Parker, Brentwood: Parker recorded a hat trick in a 6-2 win over Clarksville.

Luke Perko, ZCA: Perko finished the week 9-of-15 with 14 RBIs, seven runs scored, a  home run, three doubles and also picked up three wins on the mound.

A.J. Swader, Oakland: Swader was 8-of-13 with a .615 average, three doubles, two home runs and 11 RBIs in a three-game series against LaVergne.
