Baseball: Showdown for District Supremacy Monday

By Kris Freeman for White House High School

With the final week of the district regular season schedule facing high school baseball, the setup could not have worked any better for the two leaders of District 9-AA heading into a Monday-Tuesday series.

First place White House Heritage (7-1) travels to second place White House (8-2) at 7 p.m. The two teams then play again on Tuesday at White House Heritage. The Patriots still have a two-game series this week to make up with Cheatham County to finish out the district slate.

White House comes into the game having split with Sycamore and Greenbrier, accounting for two district losses. Since then, the Devils have won all six district games.

White House Heritage lost its only district contest in a split with Greenbrier.

For White House to win the district regular season title, a sweep is almost a necessity. A split would give the Patriots a one-game lead and eliminate White House’s ability to control its own destiny.

A two-game sweep by Heritage could drop White House to third.

Tickets are available for the game on GoFan at this link. There is also a ticket link available for Tuesday at Heritage by searching the game on GoFan.
