Soccer: Semifinals Monday at WHHS with Two Games

By Kris Freeman for White House High School

The White House soccer team will host the District 9-AA semifinals on Monday night, with two games on schedule for the soccer field behind the White House annex.

The White House High School Blue Devils are the number two seed and will play third-seed Greenbrier at 5 p.m. The Bobcats emerged from the opening round after defeating Macon County, 2-0, on Friday. White House defeated Greenbrier in the regular season, 6-0.

White House Heritage is the number one seed in the tournament and will play Springfield at 7 p.m. Springfield defeated Portland, 4-2, on Friday. White House Heritage was undefeated in district play in the regular season.

The two teams who advance will play Wednesday at WHHS for the district championship, but a win on Monday guarantees a region berth for both teams.

Tonight’s games are elimination games for the loser.
