Soccer: Devils Head to Nashville for Region Semifinal Monday

By Kris Freeman for White House High School

NASHVILLE – The White House Blue Devils fell just short of a District 9-AA championship in both the regular season and the tournament, but the opportunities for the squad are not finished in the postseason.

Because of TSSAA brackets, the top two district seeds advance to the Region 5-AA Semifinals, where White House will travel to STEM Prep Academy in Nashville. The game will be played Monday at The Ensworth School at 5:30 p.m. and will be an elimination game for both teams.

On the other side the bracket, District 10-AA runner up Martin Luther King (MLK) will travel to District 9-AA champion White House Heritage Monday at 7 p.m.

STEM Prep Academy defeated MLK 2-1 on Thursday, and White House Heritage defeated White House 1-0 on Wednesday.

The winners of Monday’s games will advance to the Region 5-AA Finals, and also earn a sectional bid no matter the outcome of the Region Championship game. The sectional is paired with Region 6 (Districts 11-12) and the winner of the sectional advances to the eight team state tournament.

Region Champions host a sectional. Region runner ups travel.
