White House High School’s Danielle Williams will be competing in the finals of the poetry category in the National Speech and Debate Tournament on Saturday at 11 a.m.
The tournament is virtual and being carried via livestream. To watch, click on this link and then she will be competing on Livestream #3 at 11 a.m.
Danielle is in the final six competitors in the nation and awards will not be held until 6 p.m., at the Livestream #1 link.
In speech competitions, the final round usually consists of six competitors, who will compete and then be announced in descending order from sixth to the winner at the awards ceremony.
White House had four national competitors in the 2021 tournament.
Sydnee Bailey qualified in original oratory.
Rebekah Langford was Top 60 in humorous interpretation.
Madison Freeman was Top 30 in prepared prompt speaking and Top 130 in expository speaking.
Danielle Williams is a finalist for poetry and was Top 102 in program oral interpretation.
The White House speech team is coached by Emily Higdon.
