GREENBRIER – White House senior quarterback Ranen Blackburn became just the seventh player in Blue Devils football history to eclipse the 3,000-yard rushing mark Friday night for his career.
The signal caller rushed for 118 yards and two touchdowns and then passed for 87 yards and a score in the Devils 20-6 win over Greenbrier.
Blackburn is seventh on the all-time rushing yards list with 3,052 yards. It was his 15th career 100-yard rushing game over three seasons as a starter.
He needs 189 yards to pass James Taylor for sixth all-time and is within reach of the all-time mark by Ricky Ladd at 4,430. He would need 1,378 yards over the final eight games of the season plus any playoff contests, if the Devils qualify for the postseason.
The first step in that direction comes next week when White House hosts Cheatham County for the first region game.
Blackburn now has 31 career rushing touchdowns, 15 career 100-yard games, and 880 passing yards with 10 passing touchdowns. He has scored 192 career points.
