The White House Lady Devils run to destiny came to an end Saturday night just one game short of the Class AA state tournament, as Page High School (17-3-1) shut out White House 4-0 in the sectional round to advance to the round of eight in Chattanooga.

White House and Coach Mike Felzien was making a 9th sectional appearance in the last 10 years.

White House fell behind on two goals just three minutes apart in the first half, the first a direct shot past Jordan Turner and the second a rebound and second chance that sent the offensive attacker crashing into the net. But White House had a shot at narrowing the halftime lead to 2-1 when a penalty in the box gave Sydney Richardson a penalty kick, but she just missed chipping it into the right top shelf.

Page cashed in two more and put the game away, and a late penalty shot from Maddy Hanlon clanged off the left post with a minute to go. The shot came after a foul which injured freshman Caroline Cooper, who left the game with an issue on her hand, leaving Hanlon to take the shot.

White House, which started the season 1-6, rallied with a powerful climb to into the postseason, finishing 10-10-1. White House was the District 9-AA and Region 5-AA tournament runner up, and qualified for the Class AA sectional.

Top-ranked Gibbs remained undefeated, and Page will enter the state tournament blind draw bracket ranked 5th. a
