TSSAA: White House girls 8th and 15th in state bowling tournament

SMYRNA — White House senior Jaycee Whitaker and junior Ella Husted competed Wednesday in the TSSAA Girls State Individual Bowling Tournament and finished with solid results just short of the state finals.

The top 6 bowlers advance to the final round on Wednesday afternoon, which is a ladder match format to determine the state champion.

Husted came in 8th overall with a total pin count of 1088 and six game average of 181.3 in her second straight state tournament semifinal. Her best game was 232 in the fifth game.

Whitaker finished 15th overall with a total pin count of 1033 and a six game average of 172.2 in her second straight state tournament semifinal. Her best game was a 206 in the second game.

The pair did not qualify in the top six, however both will bowl in the team portion of the state tournament on Thursday at Smyrna Bowling Center. White House will take on multi-time defending champion Hardin County in the state quarterfinals of single elimination play.
