WHITE HOUSE – The District 9-AA championship tournament comes down to the final and top two seeds Wednesday night as top seeded White House Heritage travels to two-seeded White House for the championship finale at 7 p.m.

The two teams are both advancing to Region 5-AA, however tonight’s game will determine a tournament champion and a home game for the regional semifinals. The losing team will travel to a Nashville squad.

White House advanced to the championship game with a 5-2 win over Greenbrier on Monday. The Devils built a 5-0 advantage and sealed the game away before Greenbrier scored two goals late, with many of the seniors exiting the game.

White House got two goals from Bryson Harper and two goals from Haden Cooper, and senior Cason Cooper added the single tally for the scoring recap.

White House Heritage dispatched Springfield in the second semifinal, 7-1, setting up the rematch of the two teams who played a thriller during the regular season.

While White House Heritage was undefeated in district play, the Patriots held a 1-0 lead when Harper tied the game on the road at WHH, then the Patriots scored with a few minutes remaining in the second half for the victory.

The District 10-AA final is between Martin Luther King and STEM Prep Academy, which will be held Thursday at Ensworth School. The district tournament winners will host the district tournament loser in the Region 5-AA semifinals.

Tonight is NOT an elimination game in either district.
